Mark T. Ponder

Mark Ponder is President/CEO of ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services.   Mark founded ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services in 1999 with the objective of bringing quality IT Solutions and Services to the small to mid-tier utility market serving Electric Cooperatives, Electric Utility G&T/JAA Cooperatives, Municipal Utilities, Electric Utility Service Providers and Deregulated Electric Market Participants. The company started as a consulting company specializing in IT integration and IT consulting and services.  By 2005 Mark had lead his team in developing an integration platform for Utility Advanced Data Management.  ElectSolve has introduced data analytics products such as Water and Electric Loss Analysis, Transformer Load Analysis, Voltage Analysis and Advanced Visualization which brings full situational awareness to the utility field.  The ElectSolve data platform is a proven and stable Utility Operational Data foundation for Smart Grid Technologies. Today this solutions is installed in over 100 utilities in the USA, Japan and the Caribbean.

Mark has spent over 25 years in the Utility Industry forging the way for Utility Operational Data Management in the Electric Utility Regulated and Deregulated Environment.  Mr. Ponder began his career at CSW-SWEPCO Electric Power Company (now AEP- SWEPCO) and was responsible for management and support of transmission, generation and distribution SCADA-EMS Systems. From here Mark transferred to C3 / CSW Communications in Austin, Texas, a deregulated telecommunication subsidiary of CSW (now AEP Communications).  As Chief Technologist, he specialized in Utility Automation, deployed multiple communities with early generation automated metering systems(AMR), performed systems integration and successfully entered CSW into the California deregulating market as the first certified Meter Data Management Agent MDMA.
Mr. Ponder continued his career as the Director of Network Operation Center, NOC Operations and Enterprise Solutions at MainStreet Networks, a California based early stage technology company developing products and services for electric utility companies. 

Mr. Ponder holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Louisiana State University.

Jennice Holtom, PMP®

Jennice Holtom is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services. She has contributed to the successful growth of ElectSolve since 2001. Her role as Chief Operating Officer includes responsibility for ElectSolve’s Customer Operations including Business Development and Partner Relations, Sales and Marketing, Customer Account Management, and Utility Consulting. She created and manages the ElectSolve Project Management Office (PMO) which is responsible for managing system implementation projects for ElectSolve’s uCentra® Operational Data Management Platform. 

Ms. Holtom has more than 28 years of experience in Utility Information Technology Management and Operations. Before joining ElectSolve, she was the Director of Information Technology for the Utility Automation Division at C3 Communications, a deregulated telecommunication subsidiary of Central & Southwest (now American Electric Power). She was responsible for the start-up IT organization that launched a Data Services business that became the first certified MDMA in the U.S. Services included reading interval meters, providing validation, aggregation and settlement services, as well as providing unique Internet data delivery. 

Ms. Holtom started her utility career at Central Power and Light in South Texas. During her 8 years at CPL, she managed all areas of IT including IT Applications, Help Desk, Network & Client support and IT Training. Ms. Holtom spent three years as Manager of Information Services Planning and Analysis for the Central and Southwest corporate IT group. She was responsible for the planning and coordination of CSW’s $91 million IS Budget as well as IS Business Planning & Performance Monitoring and IS Disaster Recovery Planning. She served as Information Systems liaison between CSW and its UK electric subsidiary, SEEBOARD. 

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, and has completed Harvard Business School’s “Managing the Information Technology Resource.” Additionally, Ms. Holtom holds Project Management Professional PMP® certification.

Craig Nicholson

As Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services, Craig is responsible for the development of ElectSolve’s software platform, uCentra®. In this role, Craig has become an expert resource in many standards including MultiSpeak, CIM, and XML, while helping Utilities plan and review integrations between multiple AMI, CIS, SCADA, OMS and GIS vendors. Craig’s leads the research and development team at ElectSolve and is key to Electsolve’s new product development. Craig’s 15 year tenure at ElectSolve has been instrumental in contributing to the overall success of ElectSolve. 

While at Electsolve, Craig has architected and developed many technical data management applications including Energy Settlement Solutions used by energy service providers in both the California and Texas deregulate energy markets. Craig’s diverse utility application experience covers all facets of Utility Operations including, CIS/FIS/MMS, Work Management, AMI, MDMS, OMS, GIS, SCADA, Demand Response, Asset Management as well as the new realm of Data Analytics like Line Loss Analysis, Transformer Load Analysis, Voltage Analysis and Utility Operations Event Management Visualization. 

Before joining ElectSolve, Craig held a number of developer roles creating custom solutions for the private and public sectors. Previously Craig has held roles with General Motors where he managed a technical chemical system and soon moved into management. During this period Craig wrote several technical chemical data analysis to manage reporting for the EPA and DEA. 

Craig graduated from Louisiana State University with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Additionally Craig holds a Masters in System Technology and Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry.

Erika Valentine, MCDBA, MCSD, PMP®

As VP of Implementation Services at ElectSolve, Erika, who is the data architect of ElectSolve’s Data Integration Product is responsible for the successful technical implementation of all uCentra® Installations and subsequent Support. With over 20 years of experience in IT Solutions and Database Development, Erika has earned some of the highest IT and professional certifications available. Erika holds the Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), the Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), MCTS (SQL Server), and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certifications and is currently working toward upgrading her Microsoft Certifications in order to obtain her MCITP in both Database Administration and Database Development. Erika also holds the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) and the CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certifications. She possesses invaluable knowledge of development and support in custom software applications, data integration, and custom interface solutions. 

Erika’s past project management and application development experience includes consulting and project management services for a wide range of business lines and industries. These have included projects for research and development, Health Care and Health Plan Services and Administration, Telephone and Utility Industries, Manufacturing, General Business, and General Consulting. 

Erika received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science major with an option in Accounting in 1995 from Louisiana State University.
