Mark Ponder, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

As founder and CEO of Electsolve, Tecnology Solutions and Services, Mark has over 20 years of experience in the Utility Industry forging the way for Utility Operational Data Management in the Electric Utility Regulated and Deregulated Environment.

Mr. Ponder began his career at CSW-SWEPCO Electric Power Company (now AEP- SWEPCO) and was responsible for management and support of transmission, generation, and distribution SCADA-EMS Systems.
Mark later joined C3 / CSW Communications, a deregulated telecommunication subsidiary of Central & Southwest (now American Electric Power). As Chief Technologist, he specialized in Utility Automation, deployed multiple communities with early generation automated metering systems(AMR), performed systems integration, and successfully launched CSW into the California deregulating market as the first certified Meter Data Management Agent MDMA.
He continued his career as the Director of the Network Operation Center, NOC Operations and Enterprise Solutions at MainStreet Networks, a California based early stage technology company developing products and services for electric utility companies. In 1999 Mark founded ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services, Inc. For over 10 years ElectSolve has offered comprehensive and reliable IT products and services to Electric Cooperatives, Electric Utility G & T Cooperatives, Municipal Utilities, Electric Utility Service Providers, and Deregulated Electric Market Participants. Since entering the utility marketplace in early 1999, ElectSolve has introduced products such as Meter Data Management Platform and Line Loss Reporting systems. ElectSolve’s MDM Platform, including VEE, Profiling, Line Loss Reporting and Settlement is a proven and stable Utility Operational Data foundation for Smart Grid Technologies.
Mark also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Louisiana State University.

Craig Nicholson, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer
As Vice President of Software Services and Chief Technical Officer, Craig manages and directs ElectSolve’s application development group and is responsible for product research and development.
While at ElectSolve, Craig has architected and developed many technical data management applications including Energy Settlement Solutions used by energy service providers in both the California and Texas deregulated energy markets, Meter and Operational Data Management solutions, Line Loss Analysis and Reporting Solutions and continues to play a significant role in architecting the very latest versions of ElectSolve’s flagship meter data management solution, uCentra.
Craig has over 15 years of utility solutions service many of which have been spent at ElectSolve. Craig has been very instrumental in contributing to the overall success of ElectSolve since he joined the company in 2003. Recently, Craig and his group have spearheaded a push toward customer web presentment of AMI and other related operational data, helping consumers of electricity, gas and water services to monitor their usage and benefit from the expansion of AMI in the utility services market place.
Before joining ElectSolve, Craig held a number of developer roles creating custom solutions for the private and public sectors. Craig graduated from Louisiana State University with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). He also holds the following degrees: Masters in System Technology and Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. Craig is an avid runner, biker, and ironman triathlete.

Jennice Holtom, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
As Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services, Jennice has contributed to the steady and successful growth of ElectSolve since it’s onset in 1999. Ms. Holtom has over 20 years of experience in Utility Information Technology Management and Operations. Before joining ElectSolve, she was the Director of Information Technology for the Utility Automation Division at C3 Communications, a deregulated telecommunication subsidiary of Central & Southwest (now American Electric Power). She was responsible for the start-up IT organization that launched a Data Services business that became the first certified MDMA in the U.S. Services that included reading interval meters, providing validation, aggregation and settlement services, as well as providing unique Internet data delivery.
Ms. Holtom started her utility career at Central Power and Light in South Texas, one of 4 Central and Southwest Corporation wholly owned electric utilities.
At Central Power and Light, Jennice was responsible for all utility applications such as Customer Information, Call Center, Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), Work Management, Materials Management, Financial, and Human Resources. She spent three years as Manager of Information Services Planning and Analysis for the Central and Southwest corporate IT group. She was responsible for the planning and coordination of CSW’s $91 million IS Budget as well as IS Business Planning & Performance Monitoring and IS Disaster Recovery Planning. She served as Information Systems liaison between CSW and its UK electric subsidiary, SEEBOARD.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and has completed Harvard Business School’s “Managing the Information Technology Resource.” Additionally, Ms. Holtom holds Project Management Professional PMP® certification.

Steve Bell, Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer
Steve Bell has over 20 years experience in Utility Information Technology, Telecommunications and Business Development. Steve has been instrumental in the aggressive growth at ElectSolve for the uCentra™ MDM solution through direct utility sales and key alliances with utility industry sales and marketing channel partners including APPA’s Hometown Connections for public power utilities and NRTC for electric cooperatives. ElectSolve has experienced impressive growth in customer accounts with a proven utility solution that is “scalable in both price and functionality” for public power and electric cooperative utility markets.
Prior to ElectSolve, Steve managed business development and retail energy power supply sales to businesses in deregulated electric markets across the nation as Channel Partner for Pennsylvania-based Strategic Energy (now Direct Energy Business).
In 1999, Steve was instrumental in the successful market repositioning/launch of an automatic meter reading (AMR) manufacturer to an affinity marketer of residential Internet gateway services for utilities as Business Development Manager for MainStreet Networks (San Jose, CA), a $90M venture-capital technology startup company. Steve provided leadership and support in the aggressive acquisition of 60+ electric cooperatives & municipal utility accounts in less than a year.
In 1996, Steve managed back-office systems integration for Hybrid-Fiber Coax Network deployments of ‘Customer Choice & Control’ at Austin Energy and at Central Power & Light in Laredo, Tx for C3 Communications, Inc., which provided automated metering services as well as telecommunications services through CSW/ICG ChoiceCom. As Business Development Consultant, Steve was instrumental in C3’s sales success in California’s deregulating electric market as the first Meter Data Management Agent (MDMA). Additionally, Steve successfully launched Meter Data Services as a national service with commercial and industrial customers in traditional regulated electric markets, as well as supporting CSW Energy’s service in competitive retail markets.
After attending Dallas Baptist University, Steve began his utility career at Dallas-based Central & South West Services, which provided management and professional services for CSW Corporation (now American Electric Power) and its four U.S. electric companies. CSW served 1.7 million customers across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. Steve held numerous Technology and Telecommunications consultant and project management roles over the span of 10 years supporting corporate-wide initiatives and business improvement projects.

Erika Valentine, Director of Database Services
As Director of Database Services at ElectSolve, Erika provides the Cooperative and Municipal utility markets with a broad range of database and data management consulting services. Erika provides Project Management support services, Database Administration Services, and Development and Design of Custom Database Software Applications for the electric, gas, and water utility markets.
With over 17 years of experience in IT Solutions and Database Development, Erika has earned some of the highest IT and professional certifications available. Erika holds the Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), the Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), MCTS (SQL Server 2005), and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certifications and is currently working toward upgrading her Microsoft Certifications in order to obtain her MCITP in both Database Administration and Database Development.
Erika also holds the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) and the CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certifications. She possesses invaluable knowledge of development and support in custom software applications, data integration, and custom interface solutions.
Erika received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science major with an option in Accounting in 1995 from Louisiana State University.
Erika’s past project management and application development experience includes consulting and project management services for a wide range of business lines and industries. These have included projects for research and development, Health Care and Health Plan Services and Administration, Telephone and Utility Industries, Manufacturing, General Business, and General Consulting.

Chris Landman, Director of Computing Services
As Director of Computing Services at ElectSolve, Chris directs our IT and network security department that provides an impressive variety of related services to our utility/energy industry clients. Chris handles the deployment and management of applications and appliances to ensure that the network infrastructure and security strikes a workable balance. Chris also provides project management to network deployments to include firewalls, routers, switches on the network side and Windows Active Directory and/or Exchange on the server application side.
While at ElectSolve, Chris has implemented several networks to bring our clients into the 21st century with state of the art infrastructure and cutting edge technology. This includes network infrastructure, servers and security domains, WiFi and WiMax, Microsoft Exchange solutions, and Cisco VoIP systems. Chris and his group also work on SCADA, NERC CIP, and PCI-complaint items within sensitive environments, Auditing, Penetration Testing, Information Security & Assurance, Robust & Scalable Network Architecture, Backup & Disaster Recovery, VPN / WAN / LAN Infrastructures, Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis, Full Life Cycle Project Management, Risk Mitigation, Security Auditing, and Regulatory Compliance.
Chris has over 15 years of network and security experience in the public and private sector including Information Systems Security Officer for the US Army and the Network/Security Manager of the multi-million non-profit organization Chimp Haven.
Some of Chris’ many impressive accreditations and certifications are Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III, Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP S), Cisco Certified Voice Professional Security (CCNP V), Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security), Cisco Certified Network Associate Voice (CCNA Voice), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) 4011-4016. Chris holds a Master of Science in Information Assurance from University of Dallas, in Dallas, TX which is only one of seven universities in the world designated by the NSA and the DHS to meet all six NSTISSI/ CNSS standards 4011, 4012, 4013, 4014, 4015 and 4016.
